About this file
This is a bid response attachment document submitted to the School Board of Sarasota County, Florida for Aquatic Invasive Vegetation Control Services (Bid #26-0116). The project encompasses quarterly maintenance of stormwater areas across 49 designated locations requiring control of nuisance and invasive vegetation. The contractor is responsible for providing all chemicals, herbicides, labor, required permits, dump fees, tools, travel, fuel costs, equipment, and materials necessary for the work. Key responsibilities include water quality testing to determine dissolved oxygen levels prior to treatment, South West Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) water use permitting, permit renewal inspections, and SWFWMD recertification. Services include herbicide maintenance, treatment of emergent shoreline weeds, manual maintenance with hand tools and power equipment, removal of foliage and debris, littoral shelf maintenance, algaecide application as needed, and comprehensive maintenance reporting.
The bid response form requires bidders to certify either Small Business Enterprise (SBE) or Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) status if applicable, with options for African American, Asian American, Woman-Owned, Hispanic American, or Native American designations. All bidders must demonstrate verifiable experience providing aquatic invasive vegetation control services within the preceding thirty-six months and must provide three commercial references of comparable scope from customers other than the School Board of Sarasota County. Bidders with minimum three years of experience in this service category are required to complete the commercial reference form. The document includes provisions requiring vendors to provide emergency services on a first-priority basis during hurricanes, disasters, or public emergencies, with bidders required to furnish 24-hour emergency contact information and demonstrate capability to support the School Board during crisis situations.
