About this file

This document appears to be a set of quality assurance requirements from the Argonne National Laboratory (the Laboratory) that would be applicable to a supplier providing flat polished silicon optics for multilayer/crystal diffraction optical use.

The key details are:

  • The document establishes the quality assurance requirements the supplier must meet, which can be modified by contacting the Laboratory's Procurement Department prior to award.
  • The supplier is subject to audits by the Laboratory to verify conformance, and must have a process for preventing the delivery of suspect/counterfeit items.
  • Upon delivery, the items will be inspected for compliance with the purchase order requirements, and nonconforming items may be returned at the supplier's expense.
  • The supplier must ensure adequate protection of the material and equipment during shipment and storage.
  • The document references a related federal contract opportunity from the Department of Energy Office of Science for the processing of two precisely oriented silicon blanks supplied by Argonne National Laboratory into four flat polished silicon optics.
