1.0 BACKGROUND
In support of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Federal Housing Administration (FHA), Office of Single Family Housing’s (SFH) mission, HUD is procuring an electronic appraisal portal which provides access for all FHA approved Mortgagees (Mortgagees). The solution will allow electronic appraisal files to be uploaded to a central location, processed, and checked against FHA defined and Universal Appraisal Dataset (UAD) rule sets. The original file, as well as the results of the scoring process, will then be securely transferred to HUD servers.

The Electronic Appraisal Delivery (EAD) portal is a centralized delivery system that allows uploading of electronic appraisal files to a central location where they are processed and checked against an FHA defined rule set and the original file scored and placed on a server for access and retrieval by HUD. The Home Valuation Policy Division is responsible for the policy and solutions supporting the collection of the appraisal required for FHA insurance.
