About this file

This document is a draft appendix containing a semi-annual and annual inspection checklist for elevator systems. The checklist comprises 44 comprehensive inspection items designed to ensure elevator safety, functionality, and regulatory compliance.

The inspection requirements cover multiple system components and areas: guide tracks and door mechanisms (cleaning, lubrication, door sills); electrical systems (insulation levels, collectors, conversion circuits, earth connections, panel components); mechanical elements (cables, ropes, chains, bearings, gears, brakes); hydraulic and electromechanical devices (solenoid valves, thermostats, piston seals, pumps); cabin interior (lining, doors, mirrors, control panels, lighting); hoistway and landing door equipment (power lines, interlock systems, dampers); machine room components (power distribution, lighting, ground lines); and safety-critical systems (speed limiters, safety gear, overtravel operation, shut-off valves). Specific inspection activities include simulation and verification of main functions, operational speed testing, door opening/closing speed control, communication system verification (two-way cabin-to-call center and emergency telephone systems), visual inspections for wear and integrity, lubrication level checks, and functional testing of protective devices. Documentation requirements include recording all inspection results in a maintenance logbook and providing email notification of inspection completion with technician identification. The checklist also requires verification of Amendment A3 device operation and compliance with accident-prevention regulations and safety signage requirements.
