About this file

This document is Appendix B to a federal solicitation containing technical specifications for a high-throughput catalytic reactor system intended for research laboratory applications.

The specification outlines three integrated components. Item 1 is a Multi-Channel Gas Feed Distribution Module that must supply eight parallel catalyst reactors simultaneously with expandable architecture supporting minimum three independent gas feeds. The module requires 30 bar (435 psi) maximum operating pressure, ambient temperature operation, 316 stainless steel wetted components, compatibility with 1/8 inch stainless steel tubing, individual mass flow controller mounting provisions, bypass valves, check valves, integrated pressure relief devices, and a mechanical support frame. Item 2 is a High-Temperature Multi-Reactor Catalyst Screening Assembly accommodating eight parallel fixed-bed catalytic reactors with minimum 800°C continuous operating temperature and 30 bar maximum operating pressure. Reactor tubes must be fabricated from 316 stainless steel or equivalent high-temperature alloy, feature individual removable tubes with porous frits for catalyst retention, maintain accurate alignment, and minimize thermal gradients. Item 3 is a Heated Multi-Channel Product Sampling and Stream Selection System compatible with eight reactor outlets, featuring a motorized selector valve controlled by computer interface (USB, Ethernet, or equivalent), minimum 120°C operating temperature, 30 bar maximum operating pressure, heated enclosure, individual outlet check valves, integrated back-pressure regulation, and compatibility with quadrupole mass spectrometer analysis. Overall system requirements mandate simultaneous operation of eight reactors under identical conditions, independent catalyst loading capability, automated catalyst screening functionality, continuous operation for 24–72 hours, online analysis capability without interrupting remaining reactors, and delivery as a fully integrated, mechanically assembled system with all necessary tubing, fittings, brackets, and hardware. The supplier must demonstrate proven experience designing and manufacturing custom high-pressure, high-temperature catalytic reactor systems for academic or government research laboratories and provide engineering support during installation and commissioning.
