Instructions Instructions
| List each field that is anticipated to receive an irrigation efficiency improvement. Choose the current and anticipated irrigation practices from the dropdown menus. Details about the practices in the dropdown menus can be found on the Efficiencies sheet. The change in irrigation efficiency and the irrigation efficiency improvement points will be filled in automatically. A completed example sheet is provided. |
| Each field anticipated to receive an irrigation efficiency improvement must be signed for. The signature can be done by the landowner or an official such as a ditch board member or engineer who has consulted with the landowner. Print the signatures page supplied here or create a similar one. After obtaining the signatures submit the page as a file upload. |
| Bonus points are available for projects that achieve at least 75% irrigation efficiency on at least 90% of the irrigated acres of the project. Acres that already have this level of efficiency may be counted when calculating the percentage. |

Efficiencies
| Irrigation Efficiency | ||
| (Proxy for amount of deep percolation) | ||
| Practice | Irrigation Efficiency | Notes |
| Wildland flood | 32 | Moderate control of water distribution at the top of the field, no furrows in the field, topography of the field may be uneven, fairly uneven water distribution on field, may have lengthy periods of applying water at each "set" |
| Improved wildland flood | 37 | Enhancements to wildland flood such as gated pipe in the field or leveling of the field. One or two improvements is sufficient to qualify for this category. |
| Basic furrow flood | 45 | The field has furrows |
| Improved furrow flood | 47 | The field has furrows and good control of the water distribution at the top of the field. Examples include gated pipe, cement ditches, siphon tubes. |
| Advanced furrow flood | 50 | The field has furrows and good control of the water distribution at the top of the field. The field has topography suitable for even wetting with little need to prolong the time of irrigation to wet "slow to wet" spots. |
| Advanced furrow flood with irrigation scheduling technology | 55 | Meets most or all of the advanced furrow flood description and uses at least one technology such as surge valves, soil moisture sensors for irrigation scheduling, or automated valves to turn water on or off |
| Worn wheel line sprinkler | 55 | Irrigation results in higher than usual deep percolation for a wheel line due to such things as worn nozzles, leaking joints, or not moving the wheeline often enough. |
| Efficient wheel line sprinkler | 65 | |
| Efficient wheel line sprinkler with irrigation scheduling technology | 70 | Uses at least one timing technology such as soil moisture sensors for irrigation scheduling, or automated valves to turn water on or off |
| Worn center pivot or linear move sprinkler | 65 | Use results in higher than usual deep percolation for a center pivot due to such things as worn nozzles, leaking joints, or the sprinkler moving too slowly. |
| Efficient center pivot or linear move sprinkler | 75 | |
| Efficient center pivot or linear move sprinkler with irrigation scheduling technology | 85 | Uses at least one technology such as soil moisture sensors for irrigation scheduling, or automated valves to turn water on or off |
| Microspray sprinkler | 80 | A typical use for microspray irrigation is in an orchard |
| Microspray sprinkler with irrigation scheduling technology | 85 | Uses at least one technology such as soil moisture sensors for irrigation scheduling, or automated valves to turn water on or off |
| Drip irrigation | 80 | |
| Drip irrigation with irrigation scheduling technology | 85 | Uses at least one technology such as soil moisture sensors for irrigation scheduling, or automated valves to turn water on or off |
