About this file

This document is an internal email from James Neal, a Professional Land Surveyor and Mapper in the Survey and Mapping Division of Pinellas County Department of Public Works, sent to Scott Baird on January 28, 2021. The email discusses technical calculations for a force main and waterline crossing at Mullet Creek, specifically examining the depth of the crossing based on As-Built and Drill Log Reports. The attached profile chart and drill data table provide detailed elevation and depth measurements, with Neal concluding that the force main and waterline crossing are sufficiently deep according to the combined documentation.

The technical document appears to be part of the preliminary engineering assessment for the Mullet Creek Channel B Erosion Control project, which aims to stabilize creek banks, prevent erosion and sedimentation, and create a floodplain expansion area with native vegetation. The profile chart includes precise measurements at various points along the drill path, with notations about elevation changes, drainage rights of way, and specific depth calculations. The drill data points provide granular information about horizontal and vertical positioning, helping engineers and surveyors ensure proper infrastructure placement and environmental considerations.

Scott, I did some rough calculations (see image below) and it looks like the force main and waterline crossing on Mullet Creek are plenty deep based on the combined information shown on the As-Built and Drill Log Reports.

Regards, James Neal, P.S.M.
