About this file
This is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) filed by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities for a repair and maintenance service agreement for Rohde & Schwarz Security Scanners. The Developmental Disabilities Defendant Program (DDDP) is requesting ongoing maintenance and repair services for specialized detection equipment designed to identify metallic and non-metallic contraband at the forensic facility. The service agreement is intended for a one-year term upon approval of the purchase order. The document was posted on November 7, 2025, with a deadline for receipt of vendor information by December 4, 2025. No site visits or bidder conferences are mentioned. The services are classified under multiple UNSPSC codes including machine installation and maintenance services (72151800), equipment test calibration or repair (81141504), technical support services (81111811), and proprietary systems maintenance (81111805).
The estimated dollar amount for the one-year service agreement is $47,990.00. The agency is seeking a single-source purchase from Rohde & Schwarz, citing that only authorized service personnel from Rohde & Schwarz are permitted to repair these proprietary scanners. The justification emphasizes that the service agreement ensures consistent equipment performance, prevents downtime, and extends the equipment's lifespan through regular checks, calibrations, and cleaning, which is necessary to maintain the safety and security of residents and staff. The requirement is mandated by Florida Statute 916. The purchase has been approved by Jimmy Smith, Administrative Services Director, and Melissa Hurst, Chief of General Services & Procurement. The agency contact is Scott Forehand at the Chattahoochee location, with an internal tracking number of APD SS 2526-021.
