About this file

This is an annual report document for fire system maintenance and inspections submitted to the City of Bradenton, Florida, in support of a comprehensive fire services contracting opportunity. The City of Bradenton is soliciting proposals for full-line fire systems testing, maintenance, inspections, certification, and repair services across nine city-owned facilities under Invitation for Bid (IFB) #26-042JS. The scope encompasses fire sprinkler systems totaling 466,738 square feet, 355 fire alarm devices, backflow preventers, fire pumps, standpipes, chemical and clean agent suppression systems, smoke and heat detection devices, fire panels, deluge valves, hood suppression systems with cleaning services, and approximately 750 annual fire extinguisher certifications. A non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for September 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at City Hall, with questions due by September 28, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Proposals must be submitted by October 14, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., and contract award is anticipated for November 18, 2026. Testing and inspections will occur on yearly, semiannual, and monthly frequencies in accordance with NFPA standards and applicable fire codes.

Bidders must hold a current Florida Fire Protection Contractor License (Level I through V) and provide a minimum of three references demonstrating fire sprinkler system experience within the past five years. Technicians must be based within 75 miles of Bradenton and meet two-hour notification and four-hour on-site arrival requirements for emergency calls. Pricing is structured as estimated quantities with hourly labor rates differentiated for normal business hours, outside business hours, and holiday work, with materials carrying a maximum 30 percent markup. Travel time charges are not permitted; only on-site time may be billed. Invoices must itemize inspection and repair services separately with supporting documentation. Bidders must maintain Commercial General Liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence. The City reserves the award to the responsive and responsible bidder with the lowest total bid price, provided the bid is reasonable and in the City's best interest.
