Dimensions And Standards For Small Soccer Fields In Sports Facilities
Location:
Embassy of the United States of America, Asunción, Paraguay
Asuncion, Paraguay
I TRODUCTIO
Soccer fields for 6, 7, 8, and 9 players do not have standardized measurements established by FIFA regulations, as is the case with 11-a-side and 5-a-side soccer fields.
Basically, fields for 6, 7, 8, and 9 players are built with proportional measurements that allow for comfortable play for the players. In general, it is recommended that the width be 3/4 of the length to achieve the best proportion for the field. Regardless of its size, it is necessary for the field to have a rectangular shape.
With this in mind, the following measurements are commonly used for these types of soccer fields:
PROPOSAL A D CO CLUSIO S FOR THE SOCCER FIELD AT THE U ITED

Technical Agronomic Report (Grass Options)
Location:
Embassy of the United States of America, OBJECTIVE
Selection of suitable grass and design of an efficient irrigation system to withstand local climatic conditions and expected traffic level on the field.
A ALYSIS OF EVALUATED GRASS SPECIES
In Paraguay, the hot climate with significant rainy seasons necessitates selecting resilient grass with good recovery capacity and drought tolerance, considering the frequent use expected in a sports field of this size.
The species evaluated were:
1. BERMUDA GRASS (CY ODO DACTYLO )
Advantages: It is the standard for high-performance sports fields due to its high traffic tolerance and quick recovery, making it the ideal choice for frequently used sports surfaces. It has proven resistance to warm climates and moderate drought periods.
Limitations: Low shade tolerance, requires direct sunlight, and regular maintenance in terms of watering and mowing.
Recommendation: For a uniform and long-lasting appearance, it is recommended to establish Bermuda grass in sods, which ensures optimal coverage and allows for quick use of the field post-installation.
2. SIEMPRE VERDE (AXO OPUS COMPRESSUS)
Advantages: Good shade tolerance and lower maintenance needs compared to Bermuda. Ideal for moderate traffic areas, adaptable to Paraguayan climatic conditions, with moderately vertical growth.
Limitations: Limited resistance to constant wear on a high-traffic field, but suitable if traffic is occasional or moderate.
Recommendation: It may be suitable if the field will not have intensive use, offering an economical and low-maintenance solution.
3. ESMERALDA (ZOYSIA JAPO ICA)
Advantages: Aesthetically appealing, with fine leaves and a dense texture that creates a uniform appearance. Drought tolerant with less vertical growth, reducing the need for frequent mowing.
Limitations: Its recovery capacity is slower than Bermuda, making it better suited for areas with moderate traffic.
Recommendation: Suitable for fields with lower usage or for those seeking a high-quality visual finish with occasional traffic.
IRRIGATIO SYSTEM
To ensure healthy grass growth and maintain quality under traffic and climatic conditions, an efficient and automated irrigation system is recommended. Specific recommendations include:
● Automatic Rotary Sprinklers: These sprinklers should uniformly cover the entire field surface, with perimeter sprinklers to allow for even watering across the 40x20-meter area. 360-degree rotary sprinklers are ideal for this application.
● Automatic Controller: To facilitate maintenance and optimize water usage, a control panel is recommended to schedule irrigation according to seasonal and climatic needs. During the dry season, a watering frequency of three times per week is suggested, while in the rainy season, it can be reduced to once or twice per week.
● Water Reservoir: A tank with a minimum capacity of 3,000 liters will ensure sufficient water availability to meet the irrigation demands of the entire field, even during prolonged dry periods.
SOIL PREPARATIO
Proper soil preparation is essential before laying the turf. This includes:
● Cleaning and Leveling the Ground: The area should be free of weeds and inert materials. A soil analysis is recommended to adjust the pH and enrich the soil according to the needs of the selected grass.
● utrient Supply: An initial application of slow-release fertilizers with nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium is suggested to stimulate rooting and establishment of the grass.
● Moderate Compaction: Light compaction will help stabilize the ground and facilitate rooting, though excessive compaction should be avoided as it may reduce permeability and drainage.
CO CLUSIO S A D FI AL RECOMME DATIO
Considering the climatic factors, projected field usage, and available budget, Bermuda (Cynodon dactylon) emerges as the optimal choice for this project. Its resistance characteristics, quick recovery, and tolerance to high-traffic conditions make it ideal for a frequently used field, ensuring prolonged durability and a professional appearance. If opting for a more economical maintenance plan with moderate traffic, Siempre Verde or Emeralda could be viable alternatives.
Soccer Field of the German Club, Asunción, Paraguay - Bermuda (Cynodon dactylon)
Rugby Field of San Jose Club, Asunción, Paraguay - Bermuda (Cynodon dactylon)
The automated irrigation system with rotary sprinklers and a storage tank will ensure turf conservation and a uniform appearance throughout the year, which is essential for the high visual and functional standards expected in a facility of this nature.

Botanical And Forestry Survey Report
Location:
Embassy of the United States of America, GE ERAL OBJECTIVE
1. Determine the number of existing tree species currently within the area of influence of the projected soccer field on the property of the United States Embassy in Asuncion.
2. Define the root projection of each identified species and assess its potential impact on the future construction of the projected turf soccer field.
LOCATIO
The project is located within the premises of the United States Embassy, specifically at the geographic coordinate UTM X: 439.175 Y: 7202.399.
SAMPLI G METHODOLOGY
An on-site survey was conducted to identify the forest species present within the action area of the projected soccer field. Using support materials such as measuring tape and GPS, the trunk diameter of three specimens found in the zone of influence of the field was measured.
These are detailed below:
Specimen 1: VITEX MESOPOTAMICA
FAMILY: VERBENACEAE
SPECIES: MESOPOTAMICA
COMMO AME: TARUMÁ
TRU K DIAMETER: 2.77 m
The Tarumá has a taproot system. It is a tree with a fluted trunk base, reaching up to 30 meters in height and 80 cm in trunk diameter, with a nearly spherical, slightly flattened crown, dense foliage, and a compact canopy. Its fruits are ovoid drupes, up to 2.5 cm tall, with a persistent calyx at the base. When ripe, the fruit turns from purple to black, with a pleasant taste and a distinct aroma. It contains up to 4 seeds.
MAI ROOT
This tree develops a strong, deep taproot that penetrates the soil significantly, providing stability and access to groundwater.
The secondary roots branch out and extend horizontally but usually do not protrude significantly in areas that are humid or near water sources.
CASE A ALYSIS
Regarding the location of the Tarumá, it is not adjacent to the area of the soccer field, so there is no risk of the secondary roots affecting the construction. Since there is sufficient water provided by the constant irrigation, as evidenced in the survey, it is not expected that the secondary roots will extend more than 1 meter around the trunk or main root.
Specimen 2: Peltopharum Dubium
FAMILY: LEGUMINOSAE
GE US: PELTOPHORUM
SPECIES: DUBIUM
COMMO AME: YVYRAPYTA
TRU K DIAMETER: 3.74 m
This large, deciduous tree reaches a height of 20-35 meters and a diameter at breast height (DBH) of 40-200 cm. It is a fast-growing species. The roots have large nodules that fix nitrogen, making it suitable for planting in poor soils.
CASE A ALYSIS
Based on its location, this is the tree closest to the soccer field. Considering its trunk diameter, it has fully matured, even exceeding the average DBH for the species, which is 200 cm. The specimen in question has a DBH of 374 cm, so no significant growth is expected in the coming years.
Regarding its root system, it has a taproot system with nodules. Typically, the Yvyrapyta’s root penetrates deeply into the soil, providing it with considerable resistance to adverse climates. The secondary root system is not expected to extend more than 1.5 meters from the trunk, as there is adequate water supply, considering the adjacent irrigation system in the surveyed area.
Secondary roots usually extend more than 2 meters from the trunk in search of water, so we do not expect this to be a factor affecting future construction projections.
Specimen 3: Samu’u
FAMILY: BOMBACACEAE
GE US: CEIBA SP
SPECIES: CEIBA
COMMO AME: SAMU’U, PALO BORRACHO
TRU K DIAMETER: 15 cm
It is a large tree, with its most distinctive feature being its trunk, which can reach two meters in diameter in the middle section, where it displays a bottle-like bulge that stores water to survive dry periods. The leaves are elongated, lance-shaped, palmate, alternate, and compound. Its flowers are large and striking, in shades of pink or white. The fruit is a woody, oval-shaped capsule, greenish-brown in color, which breaks open when mature, exposing a thick fiber material, similar to cotton, that surrounds the seeds.
CASE A ALYSIS
The identified Samu’u specimens are young and expected to grow to their average size. Since they are in an area with abundant water, exceptional growth in either the trunk or the root system is not anticipated. Due to the nature of the trunk, we recommend taking security measures to isolate it from contact with future users of the soccer field, as the trunks have spines characteristic of the species.
