About this file

This document contains a building systems functional test checklist and federal contract opportunity notice. The checklist outlines acceptance testing procedures for various life safety and emergency systems in a facility, including fire alarms, sprinklers, standpipes, fire pumps, gas detection, exit lighting, fire doors, air handlers, kitchen hood suppression, and signage. The related federal contract opportunity is a pre-solicitation notice for repair work on Facility 1362 at Aviano Air Base in Italy, with an estimated value between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Interested vendors must hold an active System for Award Management registration and Italian Statement of Authorization certification in category OG01. The solicitation is expected to be issued in January 2023.

FUNCTIONAL TEST

CHECKLIST

PURPOSE:

This checklist provides actions to be taken when conducting functional operation checks of the following life and emergency systems: Fire alarms, sprinklers, standpipes, fire pumps, gas detection, exit & emergency lighting, exit passage, exit doors, air handler units, fire rated doors, wall penetrations, extinguishers, hood & duct extraction systems, and emergency signage. Of course not all systems may be installed in each facility. Operationally check all that apply to the facility.

Do not conduct the operational check without the presence of the installing contractor, project manager, and 31 CES/CEOEM Fire Alarm Maintenance

Contract QA.

A copy of this checklist must be provided to the appropriate project manager to ensure all outlined items will be included in the SOW. The project manager should forward a copy to the appropriate contractor.

Ensure the project manager will receive the final fire alarm testing documentation

IAW all applicable Italian Fire Standards and Laws outlined below. This is required for all facilities that are subject to C.P.I. (Italian Fire Prevention Certification

Program)
