About this file

This document is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) from Argonne National Laboratory for a Glovebox-Integrated Sputtering System for Thin-Film Metal Battery Fabrication. The solicitation seeks a turnkey system that will be fully integrated into an argon-glovebox for inert-atmosphere deposition of air-sensitive thin films, specifically for lithium and/or sodium-metal battery fabrication. The procurement includes equipment delivery, installation, commissioning, utility hookups, factory and site acceptance testing, operator training, and one year of warranty maintenance support.

The solicitation (No. 5-B175-Q-00628-00) is issued by the Department of Energy Office of Science, with quotes due by July 22, 2025, and any inquiries to be submitted by July 17, 2025. The procurement requires compliance with Buy American regulations, where U.S. components must exceed 65% of total component costs. Vendors must submit proposals using either DAP (international) or FOB Destination (domestic) Incoterms, provide the HTS code if applicable, specify lead time and country of origin, and complete required representations and certifications. The resulting purchase order will be subject to Argonne's specific terms and conditions, with payment terms of net 30 days.
