This is a Pre-Bid RFI Responses document (#2) dated February 18, 2025, for the Paulding County Fleet Maintenance Facility construction project. The document contains 35 questions and answers addressing technical specifications and clarifications for bidders. Key timeline changes include moving the bid submission time from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the bid due date, though requests for bid deadline extensions were denied. An updated Addendum set addressing PEMB front roof drainage and second-floor structure/slab questions will be released by February 20, 2025.
The document clarifies numerous technical specifications including: light storage load requirements of 125 psf for the mezzanine, removal conditions for the sediment trap, concrete slab transitions, exterior lighting requirements (19 "WP" and 2 "F" fixtures), landscaping details, and HVAC controls specifications. Notable clarifications include that no prevailing wage rates apply to this project, the air compressor will be owner-supplied but plumbing connections are contractor scope, and hose reels are to be provided by the plumber/general contractor. The document also confirms that standard colors are acceptable for plastic laminate and solid surface materials, with no premium colors required.

Paulding County Fleet Maintenance Facility Pre-Bid RFI Responses #2 February 18, 2025
General Note: Questions relating to the PEMB front roof drainage and the second-floor structure/slab will be addressed in an updated Addendum set by Thursday, February 20, as indicated in the Pre-Bid meeting.
1. What live load for the storage mezzanine. Drawings do not specify. Is it light storage at 125 psf or heavy 250 psf or greater? A: 125 psf (light storage)
2. The Sediment Trap at the rear of the building does not appear on the final erosion control. Is it to be removed? A: That is correct. The sediment trap may be removed once the site is permanently stabilized. There will be a water quality unit installed within structure A2. The water quality unit along with all other pipes and structures will need to be removed of sediment and debris once the site is permanently stabilized.
3. Drawing S101 – Is the joint between column lines 7 & 8, between the 6” and 8” thickness to be a control joint or any special transition? A: No special transition between the 6” to 8” slab, just slope the ground to transition the 2” and continue the w.w.f. continuous across the transition.
4. Concrete curb between back shop and wash bay, indicate coordinated location between column and wall panels. A: The curb is shown on the interior side of the girt/panel on the structural S101 plan and the architectural wall section A12/A303.
5. There is an exposed footing on the job south side of the site, is it to be removed? A: The exposed footing should be removed.
6. There is asphalt the will be left on the Job south west and west side of the site. Should it have been noted to remove or cut straight for future paving connection? A: To the south, we are showing the asphalt to be sawcut around an existing fenced in structure. The proposed asphalt will tie into the existing asphalt there. If there is any asphalt remaining on the western portion it should be removed.
7. Sheet E2.0 or E2.1 does not indicate what lights need to be “Night Light”. Please advise.
A: No night lights specified since they are no longer allowed by the energy code.

(2) “F” fixtures.
12. Please provide location of doors to be controlled by the access control system. A: No access control systems required.
13. In the Exterior Storefront Elevations PG A-602 elevation E calls for spandrel glazing, are we sure that’s what the owner/architect wants? It seems odd to me to put spandrel glass in the entire elevation of the lobby main entrance. A: “S” should signify “Safety Glazing” and not “Spandrel Panels”.
14. We would like to request for the bid deadline to be extended by at least a week in order to get more subcontractor participation and a better price for the client. As of now many subs are declining the opportunity due to not having enough time for a proper proposal.
