About this file

This document is an amendment to a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the Kansas Department of Corrections for a Perimeter Detection System at the Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex. The amendment provides responses to 17 questions from potential bidders, covering topics such as the removal of the existing system, the use of existing conduit, fence tightening, signage relocation, and project timeline. The RFP is intended to be completed before winter, with a preferred timeline of 2 weeks for submittals and 90 days for completion after the purchase order is issued, as the project poses a security risk.

The RFP covers the Perimeter Detection System for the perimeter fence at the Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex, located in the jurisdictions of Jewell County and Topeka City in the state of Kansas. The amendment clarifies various requirements and expectations for the awarded vendor, including the need to tighten the existing fence, remove and affix zone signage, and work within the specified working hours. The project is time-sensitive, and the agency prefers to have it completed before winter.
