About this file

This document is an amendment to a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by the University of Wisconsin-Madison for neutral host cellular infrastructure installation preparation consulting services (RFP No. 2025-UWMSN-00781-RFP). The amendment answers additional questions from proposers and extends the proposal due date to September 20, 2024 at 2 PM CT. The scope of the RFP is for a neutral host 5G network, which does not include edge, cloud, or data center infrastructure except where necessary to support the 5G network deployment. The initial areas of interest are high-density athletic venues such as Camp Randall and the Kohl Center. The university cannot currently share details about the existing Distributed Antenna System (DAS) operator, site numbers, or coverage.

Responding to this RFP precludes bidders from bidding on the subsequent implementation work. The university does not have a vendor list in mind for this RFP release. The key driver for migrating from the existing DAS to a neutral host solution is not specified, but may be due to capacity, coverage, cost, or support for next-generation applications. Pricing terms, set-asides, funding sources, and other salient commercial details are not provided in this amendment.
