About this file

This document is an Amendment 1 - Response to Vendor for the Graham Generator Contract Bid B-38942 issued by the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC). The RFQ is for a one-year generator repair and maintenance contract at the Graham Correctional Center. The response addresses vendor questions regarding the contract requirement for a 4-hour load bank test per NFPA 110 standards. IDOC stated that the facility staff is unaware of when the last load bank test was performed, but the generators are set to run under a full building load for 1 hour weekly, although it is unknown if this is over 30% of the generator's capacity.

The contract does not provide details on pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding requirements or sources, or other commercial terms. The document focuses solely on clarifying the technical requirements for the load bank testing.

DOC – GRAHAM – GENERATOR CONTRACT

Bid #24-426DOC-GRAHA-B-38942 Amendment #1 Response to Vendor’s Questions to Request for Quote (RFQ)

Below is the response to the questions that IDOC has received regarding the above RFQ:

1. Vendor: In regard to the contract stating that a load bank is to be performed per NFPA 110 standards. To know how much needs to be done I need to know when the last time a four (4) hour load bank was done and if each generator has over a 30% load when it is exercised under load monthly.

Answer: It is unknown to current facility staff when the generators have been bank tested, employee stated they have been here nine (9) years in which they haven’t been tested. The generators are set to tun under a load for ½ hour weekly. That is full load of the building, but not know if that is over 30% or not.
