2 PROJECT INFORMATION

2.1 Project Description

The La Grande School District has three buildings needing a design-build, turn key project for HVAC retrofit upgrades to the heating and cooling systems.

La Grande High School -1970’s wing (709 K Avenue, La Grande, OR 97850) Provide and install nine DX-coil and remote condensing units in existing AHUs

The La Grande High School has multiple large air handling units (AHUs) which serve specific portions of the building. Hydronic coils exist in these AHUs to provide heat from the boiler plant. Certain AHUs have had DX cooling coils added, but many are yet to be retrofitted.

La Grande Middle School (1108 4th Street, La Grande, OR 97850) Provide and install seven DX-coil and remote condensing units in existing AHUs.

Provide and install two DX-ductless splits and remote condensing units in the kitchen.

REMOVE AS UNNECESSARY - Provide and install two gas-fired unit heaters Replace existing RTU

The La Grande Middle School has multiple large air handling units (AHUs) which serve specific portions of the building. Hydronic coils exist in these AHUs to provide heat from the boiler plant.

Certain AHUs have been retrofitted with DX cooling coils but many are yet to be retrofitted.

Greenwood Elementary (2300 N Spruce Street, La Grande, OR 97850) Install Gas Pack RTU for Gym/Cafeteria. Provide a duct solution for this area.

Provide and install one DX-ductless split and remote condensing unit in the kitchen.

Install one owner-supplied condensing unit in the library.

Repair condensing unit in the library.

At Greenwood Elementary the needed upgrade is in the gymnasium, cafeteria and kitchen. This area is currently heated by an old steam boiler system that is difficult to maintain because it is located under the floors. As part of this upgrade, the areas will need both heating and cooling along with removal of the old steam heat system in this area.. In addition, remove the old RTU and replace it with an owner supplied repair the condensing unit for the library.

We anticipate the project to be partially funded by Federal Grants. Therefore, the successful proposers will follow both federal and state regulations.

Information that has not been properly marked and segregated may be disclosed in response to a public records request. When exempt information is mixed with nonexempt information, the non-exempt information must be disclosed. The LGSD will redact pages that include both exempt and nonexempt information to allow disclosure of the nonexempt information.

Unless expressly provided otherwise in this RFP or in a separate communication, the LGSD does not agree to withhold from public disclosure any information submitted in confidence by a Proposer unless the information is otherwise exempt under Oregon law. The LGSD considers Proposals submitted in response to this RFP to be submitted in confidence only until the LGSD’s evaluation is complete and the LGSD has acted on the Notice of Intent to Award.
