About this file
This document is an Amendment #1 to a bid opportunity issued by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) District 7 for a New Sewer Line Installation project. The amendment provides responses to vendor questions regarding the project scope, which includes the installation of approximately 325 feet of 6-inch sewer line, 6 clean-outs suitable for heavy equipment, and capping of an existing sewer line. The work must be completed prior to ground freeze. IDOT did not provide existing plans showing the locations and depths of drain lines, and indicates the vendor will need to contact the City of Effingham to determine any required permits. Normal business hours for the project are 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Regarding pricing and other terms, the amendment states the backfill and bedding material is at the contractor's discretion, and disposal of materials will be off-site at a location provided by the vendor. IDOT did not specify any set-asides, incumbents, or funding sources for this project. Overall, this amendment clarifies technical requirements and provides additional details to bidders for the New Sewer Line Installation project.
