About this file

This document is an amendment to an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation for the CoLSP Sadie Ford House Foundation Repair project. The ITB specifies requirements for repairing the foundation of the historic Sadie Ford House, including obtaining building permits, managing access to the closed-off site, leveling the structure, and repairing up to 240 linear feet of rotted material. The amendment provides responses to 14 questions and comments raised during the pre-bid conference, clarifying requirements around permits, access, structure stabilization, scope of work, quality control, and contract terms. The amendment also confirms the contract will be a single award, with the State verifying contractor licenses prior to intent to award. No ADA requirements are specified, and the warranty period is one year for workmanship.

The amendment does not provide details on pricing, funding sources, or incumbent contractors. It focuses on clarifying the technical requirements and contractual terms of the foundation repair project.

will be raised/lowered to the desire elevation based on feedback from the Park Manager…there is not predetermine correct elevation.

Once this elevation is achieved, this is considered “level”. Some or all parts of the structure will be slightly out of plumb at final elevation. We wanted to verify if this is understood?

5. Execution – Movement of Structure – During the Pre-Bid it was discussed that during the movement of the structure damaged to windows, doors, walls, chimney, etc. may occur.

This is correct but when the leveling starts TDEC should be on site to monitor the progress.

The only material to be salvaged is the rock around the front porch. This is to be removed and reused.

We are not foundation contractors but as long as the structure is to desired elevation and stable and the proper jack post are installed this will be acceptable.

TDEC personnel will be on site to view work each day.
