About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a Small Angle X-Ray Scattering (SAXS) Flight Tube project for the Advanced Light Source (ALS) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). The SOW details the comprehensive requirements for designing, manufacturing, testing, and installing a flight tube to be integrated into beamline 12.3.1, which will house a vacuum-compatible detector capable of translating along X, Y, and Z axes.

The project requires the subcontractor to provide a complete design and fabrication solution, including preliminary and final design reports, factory acceptance testing, documentation, shipping, and on-site installation support. Key deliverables include CAD models, as-built documentation, instruction manuals, and quality assurance documentation. The project timeline spans approximately 73 weeks, with critical milestones including design reviews, fabrication, testing, and final installation. The subcontractor will be responsible for comprehensive quality control, deviation management, and providing technical support up to one year after delivery. The contract is issued under the Department of Energy's prime contract with LBNL and involves detailed technical specifications for a precision scientific instrument component.
