STATEMENT OF WORK
Title: Greenhouse Shade Cloth Replacement
Overview: The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agriculture Research Service (ARS) has four greenhouses at the CROPS Research Laboratory in Fort Collins, CO. The greenhouses are roughly 10 years old, and as such, the shade cloth is in need of replacement.
Scope of Work:
1. Remove and dispose of existing shade cloth panels and all plastic lead edge fabric and tube clips from all greenhouse bays: A1, A2, A3; B1, B2, B3, B4; C1, C2; D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6.
2. Repair cabling and existing pulley system for deploying shade cloth in greenhouse bay A2.
3. Provide and install new shade cloth panels, with cloth ends serged to prevent fraying, in all greenhouse bays: A1, A2, A3; B1, B2, B3, B4; C1, C2; D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6. The shade cloth must be installed into the existing pulley system.
a. The existing shade cloth is XLS 15F Revolux, manufactured by Svensson. The shade cloth provided must be equivalent to this product (please see attached Revolux Product Information).
i. Must have a minimum of 40 percent direct and diffused light, PAR transmission.
4. Provide and install new plastic lead edge fabric clips and new plastic lead edge tube clips on all panels in all greenhouse bays: A1, A2, A3; B1, B2, B3, B4; C1, C2; D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6.
5. Debris and rubbish shall be removed from the job site daily. Government dumpsters shall not be used by the Contractor.
6. It is recommended that the Contractor visit the job site to identify the site condition and difficulty of work.
**Reference the attached CRL Greenhouse As-Built Drawings
Staging Area: The Contractor shall coordinate with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for approval on the staging area for material storage, parking, dumpster, and trailers. Contractor shall be responsible for their own materials and equipment left at the job site.
Working Hours: All work to be performed shall be scheduled from 7:00 A.M. To 4:00 P.M. (Monday to Friday). Contractor shall coordinate with the COR for changes to working hours so arrangement and approval can be obtained.
Warranties:
1. Minimum of a one year warranty on all labor performed.
2. Minimum of a five year warranty on the shade cloth.
Period of Performance: 90 days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed
