SITE VISIT

Nunn, CO Monday, November 24th, 2014

Reminders

1. Quotes are due December 1st by 4pm MST

Questions

1. How soon will work begin?

a. The contract should be awarded by mid-December. Based on how quickly paperwork is received from the contractor after award will determine how soon the notice to proceed can be issued.

b. As a general estimate, work will probably start mid to late December.

2. When will the old fence be pulled? How soon does the new fence need to be installed after the removal?

a. ARS has already started removing the old fence and all old fencing will be removed before the contractor begins work

b. There will not be any livestock at this location until early May, so the period of performance will not be extended beyond May 1st.

3. Can shrubs/grass be removed?

a. Yes, they can be bladed/mowed down where the fence will be erected

4. How should the section 6 erosion area (close to the road) be handled?

a. The fence will need to be brought into the filed far enough from the erosion area to make it secure. Plans for this area need to be approved with Jeff Thomas before installation begins in this area.

5. Who is responsible for doing utility locates?

a. The contractor

6. Does the new fence need to be installed exactly where the old fence was?

a. Yes, except in the erosion area

7. How are the gates handled?

a. ARS will install the gates

b. Appropriate spacing needs to be left for each gate as specified in the Statement of Work and shown in the diagrams

8. Where is the material? Who is responsible for moving it to the fence location?

a. The material is behind the barn at the Central Plains Experimental Range

b. The contractor is responsible for moving the material
