Questions and Answers

Roof Replacement on Five Historic Buildings

1. What is TIN and how do I get it?

Answer: TIN stands for Tax Identification Number. Please refer to http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/international/article/0,,id=96696,00.html for additional information.

2. Specifications show 30 lbs felt, however, roofing detail shows none. Does the job require

30lbs felt in addition to Ice and Water Shield as shown in the Roofing Detail?

Answer: No felt is required. An amendment has been done to remove the references to felt from the Services Cost Schedule Items as well as from 2.1A, 2.4A, 3.4A, and 5 under Section

C, “Statement of Work”.

3. How do we account for the pricing since there are Line Items on the Cover Page and the Cost

Schedule breaks it down further?

Answer: Complete the Services Cost Schedule where it breaks out the pricing into the different buildings and place a total overall price on the front page of the Standard Form 18.

4. Is the bonding for two years?

Answer: Please refer to clause 52.228-13 in Section I, “Contract Clauses”. This clause states the alternate payment protections, the amount, and when it is required.

5. How will payment be made?

Answer: Since this is a construction project, progress payments will be allowed. Please refer to clause 52.232-27 and 52.232-27 in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) for more information.
