Field cut timbers shall be treated with 3 brushed on coats of Copper Naphthenate. Field drilled hole not used by a bolt, lag screw or wood screw shall be filled with Copper Naphthenate, drained of preservative, and plugged with a treated hardwood plug. If the hole is into the bottom of a timber member, perservative can be squirted up into the hole. Any field damage to treated timbers shall be treated with 3 brushed on coats of a Copper Naphthenate solution. Protective eyewear, clothing and spill protection shall be used when field treating timber members.

When dimensions are shown on the drawings, or stated in the specifications they shall be considered as a convenience to the contractor. The contractor shall check and verify the quantities of timber and hardware needed, and verify the correct dimensions to ensure accuracy. Any errors or omissions in the material lists shall not be cause for an adjustment of the contract price paid.
