AMENDMENT 000001
P a g e | 1
The following questions are hereby answered:
QUESTION 1:
Are there any restrictions or limitations that would disqualify bidders from this contract (e.g., clients, previous work for pesticide manufacturers, etc.)?
ANSWER 1:
Current contracts with specific manufacturers of the chemical being assessed would be a conflict of interest.
QUESTION 2:
Task Order Description document: do the mini risk assessments for pesticides include both human health and ecological risk assessment, or just ecological risk assessments?
ANSWER 2:
The mini risk assessments for pesticides include both human and ecological risk assessment.
QUESTION 3:
For Task Order 1 Pendimethalin, the document refers to a “Durkin” example, and information assembled by Shannon Smith (TEAMS) – are these documents available for our review?
ANSWER 3:
The documents are available and are posted as separate documents.
The Durkin examples are for full risk assessments, not site specific. The difference between a site specific and a national risk assessment (RA) is that the site specific assessment can focus on the exact pesticide application methods and scenarios used at a given site. The ecological risk will consider the local (possibly mesoscale in the case of stream transport if necessary) ecology, flora and fauna. The specific procedures and practices used at the site will be evaluated. It is anticipated that site practice and setting will represent a fraction of the circumstances needing consideration in a national RA so the assessment would be much abbreviated when compared to the national assessments.
