RE: Asbestos Inspection Service of Residence #2, Nunn, Colorado; SUPPLEMENTAL
WRE Project # 120112B
Ms. Jessica Massey, This letter and its attachments document the results of sampling suspect building materials for asbestos (ACM) at the property located at Residence #2 and out buildings in Nunn, Colorado.
You contacted Windy Ridge Enterprises, LLC (WRE) to have the materials tested for asbestos containing materials. These samples are supplemental to an inspection made on 1/26/2012 for demolition of the building.
Ms. Didi Dekrey (Asbestos Inspector #639) went to the Property on April 18, 2012. She was accompanied by Ms. Jennifer Sorrentino (WRE) and Ms. Mary Ashby (USDA). Suspect samples of material were taken at the following locations:
Roof tiles of main house
Caulking around windows on roof
Caulk around roof penetration
Tan plaster, paint and tar on concrete under siding on west side
Black tar on concrete wall on North and East sides
Insulation under siding on East side
NunnAsbestos supplemental 2 (970) 568-3916
Older electrical wiring in bathroom and kitchen
Roof tiles from pump house A map with approximate locations of samples is enclosed.
A total of 18 asbestos samples were taken on 4/18/2012. Samples were sent by Fed-Ex to
Aerobiology Laboratory for normal turnaround. The bulk samples were analyzed using
Polarized Light Microscopic techniques for asbestos. Results were reported to WRE by E- Mail on Friday April 20, 2012.
Analysis of samples taken 4/18/2012 indicate:
Asbestos containing material was found in black tar coating the concrete basement walls on the north, west and east sides of the building; and also on roof as sealant around windows and penetrations
The tan plaster with yellow paint located on the west side of the building was also found to contain trace asbestos
Aerobiology Laboratory is NVLAP accredited for Polarized Light Microscopic analysis of asbestos
(#200828-0). A copy of the results and chain of custody accompany this letter (Lab #12004384).
