SECTION 02072
DEMOLITION
Date May 10, 2012
1. GENERAL: Demolition and Removal of the residential house
540950B013, approximately 10 miles from Nunn, Colorado on Weld County Road 114, address 18908 WCR 114.
A. Inclusions are
1. One story ranch style house with 1020 gross square feet, a partial basement of 870 square feet, a crawl space of 150 square feet, and a wooden exterior deck.
a. House and exterior deck to be removed from site and disposed of properly by Contractor or salvaged at the Contractor’s discretion.
b. Basement exterior concrete walls.
1. Coatings of black fibrous tar which contains asbestos. Asbestos Samples were taken by Windy Ridge Enterprises and tested for asbestos, please see the attached reports. Contractor is to demolish the basement concrete walls and any concrete with the black coating needs to be wrapped to avoid any ACM becoming airborne. The Waste Management Landfill near Ault is anticipated to accept the concrete with the coating as non-friable ACM.
2. Exterior tan granular plaster with yellow paint on the West side of the basement wall contains a trace of Asbestos. Please see attached reports.
Contractor is to demolish these materials as ACM and dispose of properly.
c. Basement exterior concrete walls and slabs without the black coating can be pushed into the footprint of the house and covered with a minimum of 1 foot of soil from the surrounding site. Fill dirt is to be compacted by earth moving equipment until no wheel or track settlement is visibly noticed. Six inches of topsoil is to be placed on top of any disturbed areas or concrete for seeding by the Government.
d. Crawl space and deck foundation is to be removed to 12 inches below the adjacent grade, and then the disturbed area is to have 6 inches of fill dirt and 6 inches of topsoil placed.
e. Roof shingles and felts were sampled for asbestos snd the tests showed none, but the sealants around the skylights and roof penetrations were sampled and the tests showed some. Please see the attached reports.
ACM will need to be appropriately removed and disposed of at an approved landfill for ACMs.
f. Older electrical wiring insulation was sampled and
02072 Page 2 of 3 tested for asbestos, which showed no asbestos.
2. Pump out septic tank and abandon in place with pipes and leach field. Fill pipe openings with concrete. Fill septic tank with sand wetted in place.
