2016 Marienville ATV Trail Heavy Mtce Contract Pre-Bid meeting April 4, 2016 The following questions with answers were discussed:

Q: On an IDIQ contract, how can we back out if we discover our bids for future option years are too low?

A: They will need to direct that question to our Contracting Officer, Alan Zero. We provided the email.

Q: Are all 50.7 miles of trail going to be awarded this year?

A: The intent is to award all 50.7 miles this year, but as always with an IDIQ, it will depend on available funding.

Q: Is it all on ATV trail or also on the Bike Trail?

A: Trail maintenance will also occur on the Marienville Bike Trail

Q: Are existing stockpile sites near the trail?

A: As stated in the contract documents, we encourage all prospective bidders to go out on the trail and look at the conditions prior to bidding.

Q: Are we going to be allowed to stockpile near the trail in the future?

A: yes, the Forest Service will work with the contractor to designate sites close to the trail work areas.

Q: Can we use a backhoe for this work?

A: As long as the equipment meets the size and performance requirements of the contract you can, however from years of doing this work, we have found that a backhoe will cause more damage to the trail than tracked equipment, and any damage that occurred would be your responsibility to repair.

Q: Is hydro-seeding allowed?

A: Yes, it lists in the spec that hydro-seeding is allowed.

Q: What is included in trail decommissioning?

A: It includes scarification of the trail surface, return to original contour and possibly removal of culverts. No haul out of materials is expected.
