Bog Dam Loop Crossing Q&A 07/02/2015

There are a number of load restricted bridges on Bog Dam Loop Road; do you have an inventory of those bridges (including location and current load rating)?

The Forest does have an inventory of the bridges but does not have a current load rating for them.

It appears that several will limit abilities to access the site, should after a structural engineer's review the ratings be less than are currently posted will this be covered under a change order or under the base bid?

Any structural evaluation needed shall be the responsibility of the contractor. There will be no change order for a bridge evaluation(s).

It is unclear where the following items are anticipated to be used within the project, could you please clarify their locations of use:

o 30805 Bedding & Backfill Aggregate This material is used as fill beneath the roadway gravel.

o 64806 Streambed Fill See Item #64504 within the Channel Section on sheet C5.11.

It appears that item 20803 is to be used under the precast footings, is this to be a clean stone product (no fines)?

See the Precast Substructure Typical Section detail for the difference between items 20803 and 70401.

Item 20805 Cofferdams calls out under the Special Specifications that the bypass/diversion must meet a 25 year storm flow, what are the flows for this event at each bridge site?

Spruce Brook Q25 = 168cfs, Stony Brook Q25 = 383cfs, EBUA Q25 = 159cfs For the 55901 Waterproofing Membrane the specification seems to call for a tar product to be used, are peel and stick or welded by torch membranes acceptable in lieu of the depicted specification?

Bidders should bid this line item as specified. Once the project has been awarded discussions between the Forest Service and contractor can happen on this line item.
