About this file
This is an Affidavit of Compliance document related to the Iran Economic Sanctions Act (Michigan Public Act No. 517 of 2012) issued by Clio Area Schools. The affidavit requires contractors bidding on the school district's request for proposal to certify that they are not an "Iran linked business" as defined by the Act and commit to maintaining this status throughout contract performance. The document serves as a compliance certification requirement for all bidders submitting proposals to Clio Area Schools.
Contractors must execute this affidavit before a notary public and acknowledge that submission of false certification carries significant penalties, including civil liability of up to $250,000 or twice the contract amount, whichever is greater, plus investigation costs and attorney fees. Additionally, any person found to have submitted false certification becomes ineligible to bid on school district proposals for three years from the date the false certification is determined. The affidavit requires the contractor's authorized signature, title, and notarization with the notary's commission expiration date and county of jurisdiction documented.
