About this file

This is Addendum #1 to the bidding and construction documents for the Green Road Community Center HVAC Renovations project issued by the City of Raleigh Engineering Services Department on September 3, 2026. The addendum modifies the original bidding documents dated August 13, 2026, and must be acknowledged by all bidders on their bid forms to avoid disqualification. The bid due date remains September 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Key project modifications include contractor requirements for pre-work airflow testing and certified TAB reports, a 30-day timeline for new units to begin operation and 60-day timeline for full unit control upon construction start, removal and cleaning of existing fabric ductwork in the gym, and replacement of electrical disconnects with new heavy-duty fusible types. The addendum specifies that new packaged HVAC equipment must include factory BACnet IP control interfaces, with new split systems controlled by new BACnet IP controllers and existing AC-4 units utilizing existing BACnet MSTP connections.

Additional specifications clarify equipment requirements and contractor responsibilities, including provisions that contractor-supplied units must match or require fewer amps than currently specified, with Carrier or Daikin equipment permitted. If electrical demand exceeds current provisions, the contractor bears costs for electrical rework. The addendum references Sheet E-1, previously omitted from the original drawing set, notes that Owens Roofing installed the existing roof, identifies that ductwork for X-RTU-4 shall not be cleaned as part of the contract, and requires new gas line connections to include new gas valves, dirt legs, and regulators. Contractors are responsible for removing and reinstalling ceiling grid and tile as required for installation. The document includes photographs of the MDP panel and references Section 230900, 1.13, E for acceptable BAS Integrators, with Mechanical Contractors Incorporated identified as the mechanical contractor reference.
