About this file

This addendum is issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department for Facilities and Support Services Division of Engineering and Contract Administration for Invitation to Bid No. RFB-123-25, concerning roof and gutter repair services at multiple Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) facilities located in Boone, Gallatin, Boyle, and Rowan counties in Eastern Kentucky. The original bid documents were dated October 18, 2024, with this addendum issued on November 20, 2024. Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum on their bid form, with failure to do so potentially resulting in disqualification. The project is overseen by Susan Ward, Statewide Procurement Analyst II, with architectural services provided by Kesler Simpson Architects, LLC.

Addendum No. 1 clarifies specifications regarding insulation requirements for roofing systems based on existing roof deck conditions. For KYTC garage roofs with corrugated metal roof decks that cannot accommodate flute filler insulation, bidders must provide continuous 2-inch rigid polyisocyanurate insulation instead, with the remainder of the new roof system (1/2-inch cover board, etc.) remaining as detailed in the original contract documents. At the Gallatin County Maintenance Garage, which currently has a PVC roof system, contractors must demolish the PVC roof down to the original metal roof and then apply the appropriate insulation type: flute filler polyiso for ribbed metal roof panels or 2-inch continuous polyiso for corrugated metal roof decks.

ADDENDUM #1

This Addendum forms a part of the Contract and clarifies, corrects or modifies the original Bid Documents, dated October 18, 2024. Acknowledge receipt of this addendum in space provided on bid form. Failure to do so may subject bidder to disqualification.

This addendum contains one (1) sheet including this sheet.

A. Although not seen by visual inspection for any roofs in this project, some KYTC garage roofs have a corrugated metal roof deck that cannot accept a ‘flute filler’ type of insulation. At all locations that have corrugated metal roof deck, provide continuous 2” rigid polyisocyanurate insulation instead of the ‘flute filler’ insulation. The rest of the new roof system (1/2” cover board, etc.)

remains as detailed on the contract documents.

B. The Gallatin County Maintenance Garage has a PVC roof installed. Once the PVC roof system is demolished down to the original metal roof, use the appropriate form of insulation: ‘flute filler’ polyiso for ribbed metal roof panels or 2” continuous polyiso for corrugated metal.
