About this file
This is Addendum No. 3 to RFB No. 23-0036 issued by the Columbus Consolidated Government's Finance Department Purchasing Division in Columbus, Georgia on May 24, 2023. The addendum addresses clarifications to the Request for Bid for fifteen (15) dual axle utility trailers. The original solicitation established minimum specifications for the trailers, including a minimum Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 9,000 lbs. and dual 3,500 lb. axles with EZ Lube and Electric Brakes. Vendors are permitted to exceed these minimum specifications by providing higher GVWR ratings and/or larger weight axles as appropriate for their quoted trailer models.
The addendum resolves two key vendor inquiries regarding specification requirements. First, it clarifies that the specified GVWR of 9,000 lbs. and dual 3,500 lb. axles represent minimum requirements, and vendors may upgrade either component independently to better suit their equipment offerings. Second, it establishes that all axles must be coated in standard black color as required by the City. Vendors must acknowledge receipt of this addendum using the form provided in the original solicitation; failure to do so may result in the bid being deemed non-responsive and ineligible for award consideration.

Addendum No. 3 Dual Axle Utility Trailers
RFB No. 23-0036
Use the form provided in the solicitation to acknowledge receipt of this addendum. Failure to do so may result in your submittal being deemed non-responsive and not receiving further consideration for award.
Vendors are informed that the above subject Request for Bid (RFB) is hereby modified, corrected, or supplemented as specified, described and set forth in this Addendum:
A. Questions/Responses
1. Question: “I’m looking at the new Revised specs and something has been entered incorrectly I’m sure. Line #1 asks for a GVWR of 9K, while line # 5 requires dual 3500# axles. Those 2 do not and cannot go together. It either has to be a 7000 GVWR on 3500# axles, OR, a 9000 GVWR on
5200# axles.”
Response: The specifications are minimums desired. Line item #1 states ‘GVWR Rating:
The minimum GVWR is 9,000 lbs. for all the trailers – required’. Line Item #5 states ‘Dual
Axle: 3,500 lb. each axle – EZ Lube with Electric Brakes – minimum required.’ Vendors may use a higher rating GVWR and/or a larger weight axle, as best suits the trailer being quoted.
2. Question: “Do you have a color required for the trailers?”
Response: The City requires that all axles be coated in a standard black color.
