About this file

This document is an Addendum (No. 8) for the Lake Barkley Lodge Repairs and Renovations project issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky's Department for Facilities and Support Services, Division of Engineering and Contract Administration. The project is divided into four volumes: Volume A for Structural Repairs of Guest Wing Buildings & Walkways, Volume B for Demolition and Construction of a New Pool, Volume C for Accommodations and Hospitality Upgrades, and Volume D for Lodge Main Building Roof Replacement. The addendum provides two key modifications: first, an addition of 60 calendar days to the substantial completion timeline for Volume A, and second, an addition of 30 calendar days to the substantial completion timeline for Volume B. The invitation to bid is dated September 5, 2025, with the reference number RFB-45-26.

The addendum includes additional technical clarifications, such as a specification change for snow guards from slate to asphalt roofing and a replacement recommendation for a discontinued window film product (3M Low E 70 is suggested as a replacement). The document also provides detailed instructions for snow guard installation, including specific mounting requirements, fastener specifications, and layout guidelines for asphalt shingle roofing. The addendum is to be distributed by Lynn Imaging and requires bidders to acknowledge the changes on their bid documents. These modifications are intended to provide clarity and address specific technical details to ensure accurate bidding and project execution.

# Question Response

Note 8 on sheet C-A121 states to extend the recessed slab to accommodate new tile work. Based on a site visit and observed conditions, the existing subfloor is wood so it could not be lowered, and all tile work appears to be built on a mortar bed and raised above the existing carpet (see attached photos). Instead of lowering the floors, should we be raising the other areas to accommodate the tile work so all floor finishes would be flush/even? If that is the case, please advise what products we are to use to raise the subfloor, how much we are to raise them and how we are to accommodate the existing HVAC floor registers, electrical outlets, ETC that are currently in the room.

Yes, please plan to raise or float floor for clean ADA compliant transition between tile and carpet for Dining Room. Floor finish / thickness is not changing at any HVAC floor registers or electrical outlet locations.

Our film supplier has informed us that the specified film for F1 in drawing set C was discontinued. Please advise.

Replacement product from 3M is Low E 70. Please use this in place of original specification.
