About this file

This file consists of Addendum No. 3, Questions and Responses No. 3, and related attachments for the Quarles 6MG Clearwell No. 1 Tank Concrete Repairs and Coating Project issued by the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority on February 17, 2026. The project encompasses mobilization, tank access, removal of existing coatings, concrete repairs, exterior painting, coating application to yard piping and valves, replacement of drainage stone around the tank perimeter, work area cleaning, and landscape restoration at the James E. Quarles Water Treatment Plant in Marietta, Georgia. Bids are due by 2:00 p.m. local time on February 26, 2026, and must acknowledge receipt of all addenda to avoid rejection. The addendum includes specification changes regarding water disposal procedures, addition of a September 2025 Stormwater Utility Map to Appendix C, mesh screen material clarification (24 gauge Type 316 stainless steel), prohibition on coating existing PVC conduit, and modifications to landscaping restoration requirements allowing either seeding or sodding with contractor responsibility for maintenance and mowing until final completion.

The Questions and Responses document addresses contractor inquiries regarding mesh screen material specifications, landscaping restoration methods and watering responsibilities, permit requirements, wage requirements, water disposal locations, existing coating systems, conduit coating restrictions, concrete repair specifications, yard piping and valve scope, drainage stone specifications, and coating system manufacturer restrictions. Key clarifications confirm that no state or federal funding is being used, contractors are responsible for identifying and complying with permit requirements, the owner will provide available water connections for landscaping maintenance, and contractors must reference multiple specification sections and drawings for detailed requirements. Two pre-qualified contractors are identified: DN Tanks of Georgia, LLC and Utility Service Company, Inc.
