About this file
This Addendum No. 1 and Questions and Responses document relates to the Quarles 6 MG Clearwell No. 1 Tank Concrete Repairs and Coating Project issued by the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority in Georgia. The project involves concrete repairs and protective coating application for a water storage tank. Pre-qualification applications for bidders must be submitted by 2:00 p.m. local time on January 30, 2026, to the Administration and Engineering Office at 1170 Atlanta Industrial Drive, Marietta, Georgia 30066. Bids are due by 2:00 p.m. local time on February 26, 2026, at the same location. All bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum and all other addenda as part of their bid submission, with failure to do so resulting in bid rejection.
The addendum clarifies specifications regarding surface preparation and containment systems for the project. Key modifications include revised requirements for Class 2W water blasting methods, allowing the containment system top to remain open to the atmosphere when water blasting is used exclusively on all tank surfaces, while maintaining full wall height containment extending a minimum of six feet above tank walls. The addendum also establishes contractor responsibilities for hazardous materials testing, specifically lead-based paint (LBP) detection and abatement, with testing costs included in the lump sum item and removal costs charged against the Owner Directed Work Allowance on a time and materials basis. Bidders must hold a valid Georgia General Contractor's license at the time of bid submission and must submit pre-qualification documentation including the Statement of Bidder's Qualifications with supporting evidence of meeting specified qualifications under their officially registered company name.
