Addendum 2

Date: January 10, 2024

Addendum 2 Items:

General:

Item 1: Any long lead time items such as Aluminum Storefronts, Linear Wood Ceilings, and MEP equipment (Humidifiers, Chillers), the awarded GC is to submit those items for review within 48 hours of award of contract, and the A/E team will review and return those submittals within 48 hours. If there are any other long lead time materials / products that could potentially affect the schedule not included in this list, the awarded GC is to identify those products and submit them within 48 hours after award of contract as well.

Item 2: The Museum will remain open during construction, with the main season being April through October, and why the Phase 1 Substantial Completion date was set at April 1, 2024. It was noted that the KY Horse Park will work with the awarded GC on the Substantial Completion dates for those long lead time items identified, but it is ultimately the goal to have the main Lobby space operational and functional near the April 1 Substantial Completion date, or soon thereafter.

Item 3: Specification substitution requests: Unless specifically identified as a single-source product, it is the Owner’s intention that manufacturers offering comparable products to those listed in the specifications be allowed to bid if their products fully meet the specification requirements for both performance and aesthetics. The Architect/Engineer will not pre-approve non-listed manufacturers nor products during the bid period. Architect/Engineer will evaluate successful bidder manufacturer products post-bid to verify that proposed products do meet specification requirements. If the product submitted at that time does not, in the Architect/Engineer’s judgment meet specification requirements, an alternate product that does comply with the specifications will need to be submitted for review and approval.

Item 4: Refer to the Special Conditions, Article 8, add the following: “Provide an allowance of $55,712 for the controls scope of work described in the attached proposal from EMCOR. Any work excluded by this proposal shall fall under the scope of this contractor’s work to perform as outlined in the drawings and specifications” See attached EMCOR proposal.

Contractor Questions:

Question 1: It was noted during the site visit that while any work is performed on site, a representative from the KY Horse Park needs to be on site as well. Given that this is the requirement, it was asked if contractors would be able to work multiple shifts, and if so, would the GC’s need to pay for the KY Horse Park staff to be on site for those additional shifts.

Response: The KY Horse Park will pay their employee to be on site whenever work is being performed, and it will not be the responsibility of the contractor to pay for KHP staff.

If so, can a specification be issued?

Response: See notes below regarding the missing specification section 102113.17.

Question 3: Can you advise when the door hardware specification will be released? It is noted in the TOC, however, we could not find in the spec book.
