About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 to Bartow County RFB #26-35-001 for the Cassville White Road Two Bridge Rehabilitations Project, issued February 6, 2026. The addendum addresses 13 questions and answers from bidders regarding project specifications and requirements. Key clarifications include confirmation that Cartersville Gas will relocate the gas line prior to Notice to Proceed, elimination of the Federal Aid Certification Form requirement, provision of revised plans with milling limits outlined, and submission of the Bridge Foundation Investigation Report with boring logs. The addendum confirms that all eight pilot holes require a 5-foot rock socket, asphalt leveling course is required, no load testing is required since pilot holes will be used, and rip rap is only required if located on site. The specifications were clarified regarding copolymer asphalt overlay requirements for weatherproofing, with polymer pay items deleted. Revised plans, geotechnical reports, standard details, detour maps, and an updated cost submission sheet are provided as appendices.
The addendum modifies several contract documents including updated typical sections reflecting changes to asphalt topping and concrete shoulder widening quantities, revised bridge quantities for clarity, outlined milling limits, and concrete widening widths on the plans. Contact information is provided for Shanice Amos at Bartow County for any issues accessing the linked documentation. Bidders must sign and attach this addendum to their bid proposal to acknowledge receipt. No pricing terms, award dates, contract term, or funding source information is specified in this addendum document.

1. Question and answers
Signature Title Company Name
Q1. Will the county confirm that the gas line near the work site will be moved prior to Notice to Proceed?
A1. Yes. Cartersville Gas has plans to relocate and should be completed with their project prior to the start of this project.
Q2. Section 3.0.6.a of the specifications (Page 17 of 129) lists a "Federal Aid Certification Form" as required with the bid. Other sections of the proposal's list of required documents do not include this form and it does not appear in the specifications. Will the County please clarify if this form is required and please provide a copy if so.
A2. No. The form is not required since we are not receiving Federal Aid for this project.
Q3: Please indicate the milling limits on the plans.
A3: See revised plans, “Appendix A” linked below.
Q4. Please provide a copy of the Bridge Foundation Investigation Report (including borings/logs and recommendations) so the required pilot hole depths can be verified.
A4. See “Appendix B” linked below.
Q5: Please confirm the rock socket requirement: Do all eight (8) pilot holes receive a 5-foot rock socket, or do only the four (4) abutment pilot holes receive a 5-foot rock socket?
A5. All 8 Piles receive a 5' socket.
Q6: Please provide details for the 10-inch structural concrete pavement widening.
A6: See Bartow County Standard Detail ENG-43, included in “Appendix C”, linked below.
Q7: Please confirm whether asphalt leveling is required? The typical sections suggest that a leveling course may be needed
A7: Yes, leveling course is required.
Q8: Load testing, please confirm that the contractor is to provide third party testing of the bridges. Are there any other test requirements other than load testing that are required?
A8: Since pilot holes will be used, no load test is required. This note will be removed.
Q9: The plans note removal & replacement of rip rap. No rip rap was noted during our site visit. Are we to provide rip rap if so, can you provide Qty. s required for each of the bridges along with the size?
A9: If no rip rap is located on site, no new rip rap is required. But changed the note to include debris and spalled concrete remnants.
Q10: Polymer coatings, are they required? And if so, does it get applied directly to the SPS system or over the new pavement?
A10: The only overlay required on the bridge is the copolymer asphalt overlay.
Q11: Geo technical report, During the pre-bid it was mentioned that a geotechnical report was prepared, can you provide a copy of the report. Does the report cover Wave Equation Analysis?
A11: See “Appendix B” linked below.
Q12: Is both copolymer and polymer needed?
A12: Copolymer is needed only for weatherproofing. Polymer pay item has been deleted.
See revised plans with addendum revision in “Appendix A”.
Q13: Will a detour map be provided?
A13: See “Appendix D” linked below.
