About this file

This document is an addendum to a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service for a statewide public awareness campaign to prevent human-caused wildfires and protect residents and visitors from the increased wildfire threat in the Florida Panhandle. The campaign, titled "Be Wildfire Ready", is designed to increase awareness of the wildfire threat and provide resources to residents and landowners on how to safely burn yard waste, prepare their homes and yards, and create emergency supply kits. The campaign will target 11 impacted counties in the Panhandle and leverage digital advertising strategies such as Google Ads to reach the target audience.

The RFP seeks a qualified vendor to continue this statewide fire prevention campaign. The campaign has been active since late 2021, with the current addendum addressing activities and results through the first half of 2023. The Florida Forest Service is available to guide local leaders in developing programs to reduce the impact of wildfires in their communities. Interested vendors are encouraged to visit the BeWildfireReadyFL.com website to learn more about the campaign and connect with the Wildfire Mitigation Specialist to discuss partnership opportunities.
