About this file

This is Addendum 5 to a sealed bid solicitation issued by Brevard County, Florida for a lightning protection system installation project at two courthouse facilities. The project encompasses the Melbourne Courthouse located at 51 Nieman Avenue, Melbourne, FL 32901 and the Historic Titusville Courthouse located at 506 South Palm Avenue, Titusville, FL 32796. The addendum establishes non-mandatory pre-bid walk-throughs scheduled for January 8, 2026, with the Melbourne Courthouse tour at 10:00 AM and the Titusville Courthouse tour at 1:00 PM, with all contractors meeting at the front entrance of each facility. The addendum references revised drawings and specifications for both courthouses (Attachments A and B) and introduces an approved alternate for the Early Streamer Emission (ESE) Lightning Protection System as an additional installation option. Sealed bids are due on January 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Brevard County Central Services/Purchasing office located at 2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Building C, Room 303, Viera, Florida 32940.

Contractor licensing requirements mandate that bidders hold a Certified Building Contractor (BC), Certified General Contractor (GC), or Certified Electrical Contractor (EC) license. For the base scope, contractors performing lightning protection work must be certified by either Underwriters Laboratories (UL) or the Lightning Protection Institute (LPI), with all electrical work performed by a licensed electrical contractor. For the ESE alternate scope, contractors must be LPI certified for the ESE installation with electrical work performed by a licensed electrical contractor. All licenses and certifications must be valid at the time of bid opening and throughout the project duration. Bidders are required to submit lump sum pricing separately for each courthouse location and must acknowledge receipt of Addendum 5 on the Price Sheet. All other terms and conditions of the original bid package remain unchanged.
