About this file
This document is Addendum No. 3 for Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. 25-ITB-006-KP issued by the Florida Department of Commerce for a Fire Suppression Modification project. The solicitation seeks a contractor to perform fire suppression system modifications with a response opening date of 8/22/2025 at 3:00 PM EST. The project is expected to take place from August to November, with Commerce providing 120 calendar days to complete the work upon contract execution. The scope involves fire sprinkler system modifications, including work in the attic space, with potential for both business and non-business hours scheduling. Work will require coordination with the Commerce Building Manager and must meet State Fire Marshal inspection requirements.
The estimated construction budget is $250,000, with bidders required to provide pricing for both Commerce Business Hours (8:00 AM - 5:29 PM, Monday through Friday) and Commerce Non-Business Hours (5:30 PM - 6:30 AM, EST, including holidays and weekends). The award will be determined by the lowest Base Bid for Commerce Business Hours. Contractors must handle their own scrap metal dumpster, with FLCommerce making the East side dock area available for staging. Additional requirements include submitting system designs to the State Fire Marshal, obtaining city permits through Tallahassee, and potentially sub-contracting for specialized work like masonry and plaster repairs.
