About this file

This document is an Addendum #3 for the Gateway Bridge Landscaping Project (24-102BDS) issued by the City of Peachtree City, Georgia. The addendum addresses several questions from bidders regarding the project scope, including the warranty period, requirement to clear overgrowth, use of jute mesh and boulders, and soil testing. The City clarified that a 2-year warranty is required, the contractor must clear all necessary overgrowth, jute mesh is not required, and boulders should be medium to large-sized to create a dry-stack wall. The City also stated that soil tests are required to ensure plant establishment, but there are no known soil issues. The addendum provides guidance on interpreting the landscape design plans in relation to the bid documents.

The project is a lump sum bid, and the addendum does not provide any additional details on pricing terms, set asides, funding sources, or other salient commercial information. Bidders are instructed to refer to the landscape design plans for planting and installation requirements.

CITY OF PEACHTREE CITY

GATEWAY BRIDGE LANDSCAPING PROJECT

24-102BDS

ADDENDUM #3

1: QUESTION: In one portion it states there is a 2-year warranty for this project. But within the landscape design scope written within it states there is a 3-year warranty for this project. Is it a 2-year or 3-year warranty request?

CITY’S RESPONSE: To clarify, the City is seeking a 2-year warranty.

2: QUESTION: There is a lot of overgrowth within the location of shrubs and trees, whereas the design/bid does not clarify this. Is clearing some of the overgrowth within this scope of work? CITY’S RESPONSE: Contractor shall clear all necessary overgrowth as required to successfully implement the landscape plan.

3: QUESTION: Within the landscape design it states jute mesh shall be installed but is not listed in the bid. Should this be added? CITY’S RESPONSE: No, this is a lump sum bid.

4: QUESTION: Within the landscape design it states a boulder wall is to be installed. It is not defined within the bid. What type of material is being requested for this?

CITY’S RESPONSE: Boulders should be medium to large- sized and shaped to dry-stack and hold back a level area of dirt planted with large-scale trees, as shown on the plan.

5: QUESTION: It also states that there is to be a soil test performed on site. Is there a reason to this or just precaution? CITY’S RESPONSE: Soil tests are listed to ensure the plants will mature and grow successfully. There are no known soil issues or concerns with the site.

6: QUESTION: There are discrepancies with the length of the bolder wall within the Landscape Design and the bid. Do we follow just what is on the bid for the length requested? CITY’S RESPONSE: Please note that there are three (3) locations where boulder walls are shown on the plan. Refer to the plan document for lengths of each boulder wall.

7: QUESTION: Also in this portion it states "Prior to installing plant material, a commercial-grade weed fabric (.90-mil) shall be installed and staked as appropriate." It is not in the bid but stated here. Is this also needed within our bid? CITY’S RESPONSE: Refer to the plan details on page 4 of the plan, titled “Large Tree Planting Detail”, “Small Tree Planting Detail”, and “Shrub and Groundcover Detail” for planting requirements.

8: QUESTION: Same with on the Landscape Design it states that jute mesh should be installed in all areas of slope/erosion. It is also not listed within the bid. Do we include that as well. CITY’S RESPONSE: This is a lump sum bid.
