About this file

This document is an Addendum #2 to the City of Peachtree City's Gateway Bridge Landscaping Project 24-102BDS. The addendum addresses several questions from bidders regarding the project requirements. The city confirms that they do not have a permit to close any lanes on Highway 54 during the project, and vehicles and equipment must be parked on the project site or city-owned right-of-way. The city also states that fencing will not be removed, the cart path will not be closed for extended periods, and heavy equipment like skid steers will not be permitted on the pedestrian bridge. The project is a lump sum bid, so costs for demo, grading, and erosion control must be included in the overall price. A construction entrance is not required, but the contractor will need to provide their own water source, as the city cannot provide a meter.

Regarding pricing, this is a lump sum bid, so bidders must include all necessary costs in their overall price. There is no information provided about any set-asides, incumbents, or funding sources in this addendum.

CITY OF PEACHTREE CITY

GATEWAY BRIDGE LANDSCAPING PROJECT

24-102BDS

ADDENDUM #2

1: QUESTION: Will the city provide any necessary traffic control on HWY 54, including lane closures, during the duration of the project? CITY’S RESPONSE: The City does not have a permit from GDOT to close any lanes during the duration of this project. All vehicles and equipment should be parked on the project site or on the city-owned right-of-way of Wynnmeade Parkway so as to not block the safe movement of vehicles.

2: QUESTION: Will the city remove any necessary fencing atop the cart path for access?

CITY’S RESPONSE: Fencing will not be removed by the city. If the contractor chooses to remove the fencing, they will be required to re-install it and ensure it is in good condition.

3: QUESTION: Will the cart path be closed during the duration of the project? CITY’S RESPONSE: No, the path will not be closed for extended periods of time. If the contractor needs to close the path for not more than 30 minutes, they will need to notify the project manager at least 48 hours in advance so that notice to the general public can be distributed.

4: QUESTION: What is the weight capacity of the bridge? Will it support skid steers? CITY’S RESPONSE: No, skid steers and other heavy equipment will not be permitted on the pedestrian bridge.

5: QUESTION: Will there be any line items on the bid tab for demo, grading, erosion control etc. Or do we need to build these costs into the plant material? CITY’S RESPONSE: This is a lump sum bid. All those costs need to be included in the lump sum.

6: QUESTION: Is there a need for a construction entrance? CITY’S RESPONSE: A construction entrance is not required.

7: QUESTION: Can the city provide a water meter for the watering? CITY’S RESPONSE:

There is no water meter available. The selected contractor may either use a hydrant meter or water truck to provide water.
