About this file
This document is Addendum Number 3 for Invitation to Bid (ITB) 25-22-213097 issued by the Alaska Railroad Corporation (ARRC) for the Seattle PIER 15.5 COATING project. The addendum provides clarification on a specific technical question regarding surface preparation requirements for coating application. The ITB closing date is set for May 1, 2025, at 3:00 PM local time, with the document addressing a bidder's inquiry about surface preparation methods in Appendix G Technical Specifications.
The addendum specifically addresses a question about surface preparation techniques, with ARRC accepting the manufacturer's UHP Hydroblasting (2000-2500 bar) method to remove previous coatings and expose the original profile. To be considered compliant, bidders must submit the manufacturer's letter of surface preparation and the manufacturer's warranty associated with the UHP Hydroblasting surface preparation. This clarification provides potential bidders with specific guidance on acceptable surface preparation methods for the coating project, ensuring clarity in the bidding process and technical requirements.
