About this file
This is an Addendum to RFP #26-04, a tire supply contract solicitation issued by Butts County Board of Commissioners in Georgia for the Butts County Public Works Department. The addendum, posted on October 6, 2025, addresses four key clarifications regarding acceptable tire brands, bid bonds, brand specifications, and competitive bidding procedures. The RFP seeks sealed proposals from qualified vendors to supply tires for county vehicles and equipment, establishing a reliable contract for tire procurement with competitive pricing, product quality, and timely delivery.
The addendum clarifies that only major, nationally recognized tire brands are acceptable, with Bridgestone/Firestone and equivalent major brands permitted as substitutes for specified brands. Bid bonds do not apply to this RFP. All tires listed in the original bid description will be accepted for proposals, including those initially identified as non-major brands. Critically, the county will only compare bids that match the exact tire brand, description, and size specified in the solicitation; bids for different brands in the same size category will not be compared against one another, and only single bids per brand specification are permitted rather than multiple competitive brand submissions from individual vendors.

RFP #26-04 TIRE SUPPLY CONTRACT
Addendum #3:
Posted: October 6, 2025
1. What other brands are acceptable other than the brands listed. Will Butts County accept other brands such as Bridgestone/Firestone or other Non-major brands for the NOBs? Acceptable Brands Only major, nationally recognized brands are acceptable. Non-major brands will not be accepted. Butts County will accept Bridgestone/Firestone or other major equivalent brands as substitutes for the NOBs listed. Non-major or off-brand tires will not be considered.
2. The bid mentions providing a Bid bond for 100% of the total bid. How is this calculated? Is this only provided if awarded? Bonds do not apply to this RFP.
3. Some farm tires and passenger light truck tires are listed on the bid requesting non major brands. The trailer tires will not come in non-major brands, but the bid is stating brand such as Nitto, Deestone, Perelli, Navitrac, Landsail, and Petlas on quite a few medium, passenger, light truck, and AG tires. Will the items listed as non major brands be accepted since they are listed as the description on the bid? Those brands listed on the bid are all off brand named tires and not considered major brand. Can you please clarify on those 18 tires? All tires listed on the description list will be accepted for bids.
4. Are we bidding only requested Tire Brands in the specific sizes? Or are Comparable products also accepted. This is important because some competitive brands will come in for less $$. Example, 255/60R18 General Pursuit tire comes in at $130 and Goodyear or firestone Pursuit tire comes in at $120. If I bid the exact requested product and someone else bid the lower priced brand which wins award?
Are multiple bids for same sizes accepted? Example, I would happily turn in multiple bids with ALL competitive brands so that you all can make your choices. Basically, separate bids for Goodyear, Firestone, General, and BFGoodrich. We will only compare bids matching the tire brand, description, and size. No two different brands will be compared for this bid.
