About this file
This document is an addendum to an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) for the Chiefland Greenhouse Roof Panel Replacement Project #1093. The project involves the removal of existing Lexan panels and installation of new Lexan roof panels on four greenhouses located at the Chiefland Florida Budwood facility. The addendum provides answers to questions received regarding the project, including the applicability of prevailing wage rates, the process for removing and reinstalling bar caps, the number of greenhouses to be awarded, bond requirements, the original construction timeline of the greenhouses, the provision of canker spray and tarps, work hours, the construction timeline, the need for a temporary portlet, and requirements for tools and ladders. The contract period is 120 calendar days, with 90 days for substantial completion and 30 days for project close-out.
The addendum notes that the funding for this project will be provided by a federal grant, and therefore Davis Bacon Wage reporting and wage rates will apply. The Department plans to award as many greenhouses as the budget will fund. No bid bond/guarantee is required, but a performance bond is. The contractor will need to provide a temporary portlet outside the greenhouse, and any tools or ladders taken into the greenhouse will need to be sprayed to prevent canker.
