Addendum 2 RFP WWU2024-001-AR Printing Services

Thank you to all vendors who expressed interest in this RFP. We appreciate your interest.

The Print and Copy Center received 6,826 work requests in FY24 (July 23-June 24).

The number of work requests vary monthly with a low of 162 during August 2024 and a high of 927 during May 2024. The type and quantity of work varies greatly.

Representative print requests and print files are provided for your consideration and submission. Sample print requests do not include the entire scope of work that will be required by vendor(s).

Additional information, details, and entire scope of work will be given in more detail to selected candidates in follow up interview(s).

For clarity, the RFP is for Print and Copy Center in-house projects only. It does not include already established contract(s) for outside vendor printing.

Additional questions to vendors:

1. What processes do you have set up for receiving work submissions?

2. Do you have a work submission form?

3. Will you be able to use WWU’s current work submission form? Example form attached.

4. Will it be required to provide requests for print estimates on all jobs?

5. Will there be standardized pricing available?

6. Will you require a minimum turnaround time (24-hours)? Will you make exceptions for rush requests (same day)?

7. What are your minimum requirements/criteria for jobs? Quantity limits, etc.

8. Regarding confidentiality, what procedures/processes do you currently have set-up?

9. Regarding jobs being ‘lost in the shuffle,’… What procedures/processes do you have currently to manage workload, prioritizing jobs, tracking projects, etc.?

WHY TEACH

COMPUTER SCIENCE?

cs.wwu.edu

LEARN TO TEACH

COMPUTER SCIENCE

Computer Science, Secondary Education

At Western Washington University

There is a demand for qualified computer science teachers in middle and high schools -- teachers who have a broad and deep understanding of computer science, and a thorough understanding of effective learning and teaching. CS teachers can be inspirational and leave an impact on students, but there is a CS teacher shortage. This program can help fill that void and bring CS to more students.

HOW DOES THIS

MAJOR WORK?

The Computer Science, Secondary Education - Bachelor of Arts in Education program is designed to provide exposure to the breadth of topics required to satisfy K6-12 students’ curiosities about how computers and technology actually work, and how students can personally leverage the learned knowledge to create their own futures.

This major employs and creates emerging research on best-practices in computer science education with a focus on social justice and supporting diversity.

Confidential A Confidentiality Agreement is signed by the company and the EAP, and the analysis report contains no proprietary or identifying information.

Minimal Time Commitment The team visits a facility for one day to examine the manufacturing processes and take measurements. These visits are non-intrusive to plant operations.

Non-Regulatory Assessments do not monitor regulatory compliance. Advice is offered to save energy, reduce waste, and increase productivity.

No Obligation The facility has no obligation to act on recommendations; however, the EAP succeeds by saving you energy and money.

Increased Profitability Implementation is a simple way to make your business more cost-efficient and profitable.

Gross annual sales up to $100 million

Let the expertise of our faculty and students help your business save up to 30% of your annual energy bills!

The Energy Assessment Program at Western Washington University’s Institute for Energy Studies provides plant assessments at no cost to eligible small and mid-sized manufacturers.

Assessments are performed by a team of Energy Studies faculty and students.

During a site visit, the team takes measurements to assess the facility’s use of energy and resources. With the guidance of the Lead Assessor, students generate a confidential report identifying opportunities to save energy, reduce waste, and improve productivity.

About the Lead Assessor Dr. Nipun Goel has more than 11 years of experience in energy efficiency and renewable energy. He has preformed energy assessments at more than 80 manufacturing units and made more than 350 independent energy savings recommendations, roughly 40% of which were implemented by the plants resulting in more than $1M in energy savings.

December 4, 2023

Dear <<recipient name>>, I am writing to introduce you to the Energy Assessment Program offered by the Institute for Energy Studies at Western Washington University, which provides confidential, no-cost energy assessments to help industries save energy, reduce waste, and increase productivity. The Energy Assessment Program works with manufacturing facilities that have annual energy costs up to $3.5 million. To date, similar energy assessments have helped participating manufacturers save over 530 trillion BTUs of energy and more than $5.6 billion in energy costs.

A typical energy assessment is a one-day, in-depth survey of a plant site and includes a thorough examination of potential savings opportunities from energy efficiency improvements, waste minimization, and improvement of productivity. The assessment begins with a small team of faculty and students specializing in energy assessments conducting a walk-through survey of the plant. The team then discusses preliminary findings with plant staff and management and gathers additional data to align their findings with the facility’s maintenance/upgrade plans. The plant visits are completely non-intrusive and do not hinder ongoing production activities in any way. Within 60 days of the plant visit, the team provides a confidential report with a detailed analysis of the recommendations that were discussed during the site visit, including estimates of costs, performance, and payback periods. Six months later, the team will follow up to see how we can be of further help. The whole process is done at no cost to you.

If you would like to know if your facility is eligible for a free assessment, please email energy.institute@wwu.edu or return the form below to the Institute for Energy Studies, ATTN: Nipun Goel, 516 High Street MS 9084, Bellingham, WA 98225. Once your eligibility has been determined, and prior to the visit, you will be asked to complete a short Plant Background Information form, sign our Confidentiality Statement, and submit a copy of your energy bills for the past twelve months. An assessment will then be scheduled for a mutually convenient day.

Sincerely, Professor Nipun Goel Program Director, Energy Assessment Program

Our company would like to be considered for a free energy assessment:
