About this file

This document is a brochure for the Computer Science, Secondary Education program at Western Washington University (WWU). The program is designed to prepare students to become qualified computer science teachers for middle and high schools. It provides an overview of the program, including the coursework required, opportunities to gain experience working with K-12 students, and the application process to the Woodring School of Education. The brochure highlights the demand for computer science teachers, the impact these teachers can have on students, and the benefits of the program, such as its location in the Pacific Northwest and its focus on social justice and supporting diversity.

The related state and local contract opportunity is a request for printing services to support the WWU Print and Copy Center. The contract is for the state of Washington, specifically Whatcom County. The brochure appears to be an example of the type of printing services that may be required under this contract.

LEARN TO TEACH

COMPUTER SCIENCE

Computer Science, Secondary Education

At Western Washington University

There is a demand for qualified computer science teachers in middle and high schools -- teachers who have a broad and deep understanding of computer science, and a thorough understanding of effective learning and teaching. CS teachers can be inspirational and leave an impact on students, but there is a CS teacher shortage. This program can help fill that void and bring CS to more students.
