About this file
This document is Addendum 2 for Bid #B-7-25-52 issued by Brevard County Purchasing Services for the Mims Wells 12 & 13 project. The addendum clarifies several technical specifications for submersible well pumps, including accepting Integrity Pump & Motor as an equivalent manufacturer, confirming the motor type as submersible, specifying a tee-shaped surface plate instead of a long radius discharge elbow, and clarifying material requirements as 304 stainless steel. The bid opening date remains Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with no changes to other terms and conditions.
The addendum also provides definitive guidance on marker balls, specifying that 4" marker balls must be furnished by the contractor, color-coded for the utility being installed. Only 3M marker ball models 1404-XR and 1424-XR/iD are approved, and Omni Marker II is explicitly rejected. An additional attachment, Attachment E - Section 11209, is referenced for further technical details. The document maintains the original bid structure and provides precise technical clarifications to ensure potential bidders have the most accurate and current project specifications.

ADDENDUM 2
TO ALL PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS
This is an Addendum to and shall be considered as part of the original bid package for the above-mentioned bid. Please acknowledge receipt of Addendum 2 in space provided on Price Sheet. Bidders are requested to acknowledge receipt of this addendum with their bid.
CLARIFICATION TO QUESTIONS RECEIVED:
Question 1: 11209-1.02.B: Integrity Pump & Motor can meet the criteria specified for the submersible well pumps. Please consider adding Integrity Pump & Motor as an equivalent manufacturer. Attached is the pump curve.
Answer: Integrity Pump & Motor is accepted as an equivalent manufacturer for the submersible well pumps, provided the submitted pump meets the specified performance criteria.
Question 2: 11209-2.02.B.1: This sub section mentions a vertical solid shaft motor. This type of motor is typically used on a vertical turbine line shaft pump. Please confirm that the motor shall be a submersible motor.
Answer: The motor shall be suitable for use with a submersible well pump, and not a vertical solid shaft motor.
Question 3: 11209-2.02.G.3: This sub section mentions a long radius discharge elbow which is typical for a submersible well pump. However, plan sheet D-501 shows a tee/L shaped surface plate. Please confirm surface plate shall be per the specifications.
Answer: A long radius discharge elbow is not acceptable for this application. The surface plate shall be a tee, per sheet D-501 in the contract drawings.
Question 4: 11209-Table 11209-B: This table mentions pump, impeller and motor materials shall be stainless steel. Please confirm super duplex stainless steel is required as stated throughout the rest of the specifications.
Answer: The pump, impeller and motor shall be 304 stainless steel. Super duplex stainless steel is not necessary for this application. See Attachment E for further clarification.
Question 5: Are marker balls going to be used? If so will the city provide them?
Answer: 4” marker balls are required and furnished by the contractor; color coded for the utility to be installed. Approved manufacturers are listed in Table 1.
Table 1 – Approved Marker Ball Manufacturers
Manufacturer Model or Specification 3M 1404-XR (ball)
1424-XR/iD(ball)
Question 6: Are Omni Marker II an acceptable marker ball to use?
Answer: Omni Marker II is not an acceptable product. See Table 1 for further information.
