About this file

This is Addendum #2 issued on June 5, 2025, by Sanders & Czapski Associates, PLLC on behalf of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for the Menominee River Recreation Area - Piers Gorge Access project located in Norway, Michigan (File No. 751/22464.JBB). The addendum clarifies and revises information contained in the Project Manual and Drawings, and bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum on their Bid Forms. The date, time, and location for bid receipt remain unchanged. Key revisions include clarification that the EGLE permit will be issued by bulletin, revised site plan sheets (Sheet 4 and Sheet 5) showing wetland boundaries and details, and assignment of contractor responsibilities for obtaining and paying for a Work in Right-of-way Permit from the Dickinson County Road Commission.

The contractor is responsible for securing all permits and bearing associated costs, including maintaining required barricades. Regarding site conditions, the contractor must limit equipment traffic across the site from the east end of the bridge to the west end of the boardwalk to existing trail surfaces or track bog mats placed and maintained by the contractor to minimize ground disturbance. All excess soils from construction activities must be disposed of in upland areas not on State-owned land, and this disposal obligation remains the contractor's responsibility. The Wetland and Inland Lakes and Streams Floodplain permit is currently under EGLE review; pending its issuance, the stated conditions apply as binding requirements equivalent to permit conditions. Detail 1 of the Longitudinal Section FRP Bridge has been revised to show the entire bridge length and its relationship to surface water of the intermittent stream and wetlands.
